After more than three years of waiting, AMD has finally launched their newest, fastest processors, named Ryzen. The processors were made available for pre-order around the world earlier today.
Hurry, before they are gone!
Tough luck for me and others who were waiting for the top of the line, 8 core, 16-thread processor, the Ryzen 7 1800X, as pre-orders for this chip have already sold out on sites like Amazon and Newegg, all within hours of launch. You can still pre-order the 1800x from other stores like Fry’s, and TigerDirect, but it may take longer to receive your processor from them. The processors will officially start shipping on March 2, 2017, but as of this moment, Fry’s Electronics estimates that if you order the Ryzen 7 1800x from them it will ship on March 7, 2017. It is unclear if more space for pre-orders is going to be available soon.
Other processors like the Ryzen 7 1700 and 1700x are still available for pre-order on Amazon and Newegg. But it will not surprise anybody if they sell out soon.
For a full list of stores where you can pre-order the new processors visit AMD’s website.
Pre-orders of motherboards for this processor are also selling out. Specially the top of the line motherboards. Again it is unclear whether we will be seeing more motherboards being available for pre-order soon or if we will have to wait until after the processors have started shipping.
